Mission: Promote social, education and economic self-suffiency for american indian, alaska native and hawaiian people in los angeles, orange and riverside counties.
Programs: Child welfare: programs provide comprehensive family services which aim to prevent the separation of native american children and families, reunite native american children with their families or tribes, provide foster care for native american children, assist in the provision of child abuse and neglect prevention services, and increase compliance with the indian child welfare act. Direct services include counseling, court advocacy and parent training classes.
employment and training:the workforce innovation and opportunity act (wioa) program provides job training assistance and placement services to native americans in los angeles and orange counties.
indian education programs:these programs focus on services which aim to improve the academic achievement of native americans, increase their self-esteem and cultural awareness, and that of their families, lower their dropout rate, encourage continuance of education beyond high school, and promote family involvement in the education process.
emergency assistance:grant monies are utilized to provide food, shelter, transportation and information and referral services to needy individuals in los angeles, orange & riverside counties.
