Causes: Disaster Aid, Disaster Preparedness & Relief Services
Mission: Sewi citizens and organizations active in disasters (coad) empowers volunteers and organizations to serve local communities before, during, and after disasters. Through community education, resource management, volunteer management, and community planning and preparedness, coad supports local community resilience.
Programs: Disaster response program: addresses response mission capabilities related to volunteer management, resource management, community planning, and disaster preparedness. Coad supports disaster response operations by managing spontaneous and affiliated volunteer groups, accepting and managing donated goods and services, coordinating the efforts of non-profit agencies, and supporting long-term community recovery. There were no requests for disaster response in 2014.
southeast wisconsin medical reserve corps: engages the skills of practicing and retired healthcare professionals and non-medical personnel in support of disaster response, community wellness, and public health preparedness. The mrs supports public health agencies, hospitals, and non-profit organizations engaged in community wellness during disasters, training, and outreach activities.
live prepared: coad conducts community outreach and education to citizens throughout southeast wisconsin regarding personal and family preparedness, organizational preparedness, and community preparedness. This program supports school, faith-based agencies, non-profits, businesses, government agencies, and other community based programs.
