Programs: Dairy herd testing each member's herd is visited monthly by a field technician for southeast dhia where dairy herd performance data are collected, including; cow inventory, births, deaths, disposals, milk production, milk composition and other individual cow statistics. These data are collected and summarized for the herd's use in day-to-day management. These data are also reported to a central depository for calculation of performance statistics by geological region, cow breed, age and season. Field services are audited annually for correctness and completeness by qualified certification services, inc.
lab services southeast dhia provides milk meter calibration for measurement of milk on member's farms. Accuracy of milk measurement is enhanced by this service. Analysis of milk samples from individual cows allows levels of fat, protein, lactose and somatic cells to be measured. Laboratory equipment and procedures are monitored carefully to insure accuracy and uniformity. Laboratory and meter services are audited annually for correctness and completeness by quality certification services, inc.

dairy records processing data collected form each member farm are pooled, adjusted and reported rto usda animal improvement programs laboratory for genetic research. The work of aipl provides genetic information on dairy cattle to all segments of the dairy cattle industry in the united states. Results from aipl are used in college courses and agricultural colleges and extension education programs. Pcdart software is provided for use in collecting the data on-farm in order to enhance efficiency of collection, completeness, accuarcy and uniformity of data.
