Mission: The association was organized to help youth and young adults receive education and training in health, recreation, job, and other life coping skills.
Programs: Serve alaska youth corps (sayc) and alaska service corps: a conservation corps committed to providing service throughout alaska while providing meaningful experiences to corps members. Sponsors such as the u. S. Forest service, national parks service, and the state of alaska department of transportation and public facilities negotiate cooperative agreements with saga for crews to perform work that improves public lands and facilities. The association also receives federal americorps grants to help with program funding.
connections: the program places americorps members in schools, agencies, and organizations to increase the capacity to meet community needs, increase volunteer involvement, and foster environmental education and conservation projects. Funding for this program comes from both participating organizations and the americorps grant.
eagle valley center (evc): eagle valley center is located outside of juneau, alaska. It offers year-round programs to individuals and groups throughout southeast alaska. It operates a challenging ropes course, year-round adventure camps for youth aged 10-15, and is also a retreat and training facility available for rental.
