Mission: Educational services for youth provided as educational enrichment activities in school and after school
Programs: The mission of the organization is to provide educational enrichment activities for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The focus is working with children who reside in public housing and low income neighborhoods. Tutoring one on one and group education enrichment activities are provided after school on public school campuses. 15 work study university students serve as program facilitators and work hands on with the children through an after school and summer program. . The university students serve as role models for the children and assist with homework, provide individual tutoring, group cultural and recreational activities, including field trips to area museums, university cultural activities, and trips to the library. A total of 85 children were served in 2014. 75% of children that attended the program maintained or improved their academic grades to a minimum of passing as measured by the review of report cards by program staff. Over 50% of the children made the a&b honor role during at least 4 six week periods in a row.
