Mission: South carolina future minds, inc. (the organization") is a voluntary association of individuals operating collectively to serve, support and strengthen south carolina public education. The organization promotes excellence in south carolina public schools through scfm programs designed to benefit all children. The organization achieves its goals by contributions to schools, school programs and advocacy of quality public education. The organization welcomes everyone in the south carolina public school system, regardless of age, race, sex, ethnicity, ability, or religion.
Programs: The sc teacher of the year celebration is the largest statewide celebration of public education and its 700,000 students, 50,000 teachers and 1,200 schools. The culmination of an extensive partnership between sc future minds, the sc department of education, and the center for educator recruitment retention and advancement the event annually attracts hundreds of leaders in government, business and education to honor the best teachers from each of the 80-plus sc school districts. The two-day celebration includes an elegant dinner, followed the next day by the introduction of all district teachers of the year before the full state house and senate.

sc public education partners ("scpep") connects businesses, educators, non-profits and individuals interested in strengthening public schools. The network is designed to foster collaborative funding opportunities, promote private support for public schools and explore best practices for increasing public education advocacy. An annual conference each fall features announcement of the dick and tunky riley "what works sc" award, given in conjunction with the riley institute at furman university.
