SOTM is always looking for new ways to help and improve the community. They're not about getting recognized by their peers, the only thing that matters to SOTM is that the community benefits. Quietly, SOTM affects change wherever it can.

I have been part of this organization from the very beginning of its existence. When it started I was single and childless and since then I've now been married for 16 yrs and 4 kids later and could not have gone through those milestones without my sisters from SOTM carrying me through every step of the way.

I believe in the work of the SOTM Life Skills Center. It’s my plan to become a volunteer or board member because the work is so very meaningful to the community, and I’d like the opportunity of serving through the organization. By mentoring members of the community, SOTM is providing skills needed to help the community to grow and develop. The youth, couples, the elderly, professional counselors all benefit by participating in the mentoring, counseling and training programs. It's Excellent! ~B. Perkins~

S.O.T.M is more than a great organization. They people who cares about the individual person. They do not treat as a client coming to get service but treat as person who need to be love where they are. S.O.T.M help people at the point in life where they are. I just wish more places had the compassion that S.O.T.M has if so people would not hesitate getting help. I love the atmosphere and from day one they make you feel like family and each time you come in they genuinely glad to see you. I love their work and I will be willing to do anything to help them grow. More people need to know about their services.

I had the opportunity to meet Marie Aschkar and after picking her brain for more information on the organization I have decided to do more research. I found great things about SOTM and will communicate effectively with Marie and at the same time I look forward to being a supporter of this organization.

Dominique (the head of this beautiful organization) was a colleague of mine for over a year at a well-known mental health hospital. She is educated, knowledgeable in her field, capable, qualified and has a service oriented heart for helping and serving others. You will find the SOTM headquarters to be welcoming of all people and diverse in its outlook in the community. The Duncanville, TX neighborhood is quite the lucky place to have such a wonderful and welcoming mentoring program in their community!

I have been working with SOTM, inc., since April, 2014 as an office assitant. The instructions I get from Dominique and Marie are easy to follow. I Have truly enjoyed working with them in creating slides for a Mentoring workshop, proof=reading copy, making suggestions, doing networking around the area, and helping out with any office work needed.

This is a great organization to work with, and it is doing a great service for the community.

My volunteer experience with SOTM was very fulfilling and educational. My beliefs and works closely align with SOTM and what the organzation stands for and provides - working together to mentor, develop life skills, and give attention to the well-being of members of the community. SOTM provides life-changing coaching, development, empowerment, and support to those in need. Working with SOTM has been one of the best experiences that I've had.

I've volunteered with SOTM for a number of years and am still available, although I've moved away from the DFW metroplex. This organization is available to empower men and women to reach their potential. There are so many people hurting and in need of support, guidance, and sometimes just a plain old friend. SOTM, Inc. is that place to go for assistance with coping and learning basic, new, and fulfilling life skills. I highly recommend this organization to the Duncanville Community and others that are not ashamed to admit they need help. Their offerings are highly professional and confidential.

Hi, my name is Marie Aschkar, I have been volunteering with this organization since 1995 because I believe in what SOTM Inc is doing in the community. The mentor-to-mentor program has helped tremendously. Through this program, mentor and mentee are paired up, and asked to make a one-year commitment to one another. Both partners gain the benefit of companionship, encouragement; and are challenged to develop greater levels of integrity. I was paired up with a mentor who had gone through the same issues I was going through at the time, my mentor shared her experiences with me, and I learned from her. I was so grateful for the help that I received from the SOTM organization and decided to volunteer with them; and I have been with them ever since then. I will continue to support them and all the programs they offer. It is really a great organization, they have been in the community since 1993 with minimal grants and barely surviving, this how much this group believe in the community, they believe if one person shows up, the show should go on.
