Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Alzheimers Disease, Health

Mission: Our Mission = KEEPING FAMILIES CONNECTED DURING THE ALZHEIMER’S JOURNEY. Alzheimer’s destroys connections. The disease starts by destroying a person’s connection with their own memories. But too often, Alzheimer’s destroys connections between people. Friends stop visiting. Siblings argue. Children feel neglected. Marriages end. Families are torn apart. Our programs and activities are designed to: 1) Increase awareness of the challenges faced by families when a loved one has Alzheimer’s. 2) Help people living with Alzheimer’s better connect with families, friends, and their own joy-filled memories. 3) Provide practical help and encouragement to caregivers and families. YOUR DONATION will impact lives and help provide JOY FOR THE ALZHEIMER’S JOURNEY.

I recently discovered Songs & Smiles magazine and sing along videos. I purchased the first three editions of the magazine for our Mom, who is living with Alzheimer’s. She loved reading them. I appreciated that they were ad free, stories are contained to one page, and the larger print and colorful photos!

The sing along videos on YouTube are simply genius. My mom loves to sing, always has. The lyrics and style of the playlists assist her in singing along to familiar songs. This brought tears to our eyes to see the excitement and connection taking place!

My only regret is that we do live closer in order to attend in person events!

Thank you Songs and Smiles for Eric Kolb coming out to Lakeview at Josey Ranch entertain our residents with a 1950's Sing-a-Long. It was very well received and enjoyed by our residents. I loved all the smiles on their faces and the wonderful sounds of cheerful voices as they sang along with Eric. He was so patient with them and his voice is incredible. They loved it! Something to do again for sure.
Thank you to our residents (Nancy & Earl Turns ) daughter ( Michelle T. Clevenger) and husband for this wonderful gift of music for our residents.
