Programs: Fiscal sponsor for end hunger durham 1. They served 500 people by creating information stations at food pantries that helped people enroll in benefit programs and find access to multiple services. This program was implemented in 15 different food pantries. 2. They chose 4 different pantries to develop innovational programs in and awarded them each 500 for their programs. Some of the innovations that were implemented included -transitioning a pantry to a site where people could choose their own food instead of having it selected by someone on staff. -creating gardens in the homes of several clients -a latino pantry taught english lessons, nutrition, and cooking classes
we created a business called goldleaf cleaning and have employed people who have had a difficult time finding work. They developed skills in carpet cleaning, janitorial work, and post construction clean up. When we achieve enough contracts, we will convert a nascent business to a cooperative worker-owned business.
