Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Energy Resources Conservation & Development, Environment
Mission: To promote installation of solar pv and solar thermal on public facilities, homes, and private properties and to promote energy efficiency countywide through a public/private partnership.
Programs: Solar sonoma county has continued its' mission to remove barriers to solar in the county as one of only 25 solar america cities. This year our successes were celebrated with an award from the department of energy for 'steel on the roof'- the most solar installation in any us county. Some of our other successful projects included solar scholarship to work program, clean energy advocate program with the city of santa rosa, development of solar star certification, quality assurance installer program, over one dozen public outreach events, a solar awards dinner, and a website re-design.
