Mission: Society of interventional radiology foundation (the foundation) is a scientific foundation dedicated to fostering research in interventional radiology for the purposes of advancing scientific knowledge, increasing the number of skilled investigators, and developing innovative therapies that lead to improve patient care and quality of life. Sir foundation is committed to developing and enhancing innovative, minimally invasive, image-guided therapies from inception to mature clinical application and to conducting educational programs in the service of its mission.
Programs: Grants and academic development - the foundation provides research grants for the development of ideas and procedures that will improve patient care and quality of life through the enhancement of innovative, minimally invasive, image-guided therapies.
research - the foundation helps sponsor an annual meeting that focuses on the development of new ideas in the field of interventional radiology.
annual meeting - the annual gala event hosted by the sir foundation is a fundraising event which raises money for research in the field of interventional radiology. It is also a platform to increase awareness of ir and demonstrate its achievements throughout the year. The foundation's awards budget is included in the research education budget. It includes the following foundation's awards: the cope award, becker award, resident fellow award, leaders in innovation award. It also includes the dotter lecture honoraria (the dotter lecturer is chosen by sir) and jvir awards which are chosen by jvir.
