Mission: The society of famaly planning (sfp) is an academic society of researches, clinicians and educators dedicated to improving sexual and reproductive health. Sfp advances sience in family planning, including contraception and abortion, by funding research and promoting the expansion and dissemination of family planning knowledge. The society of family planning promotes scientifically sound researchby funding studies on family planning, fosters the advancement ofclinical care through the development of evidence-based clinicalguidelines, mentors members in research, leadership skills and careerdevelopment as well as advances the creation of family planningknowledge to inform public policy as well as provides a forum forresearchers, clinicians and educators to share research ideas andfindings.
Programs: Sfp produces an annual conference in partnership with plannedparenthood federation of america, titled the north american forum onfamily planning (the forum). The forum is the primary scientific andeducational family planning conference for medical and socialscientists, clinical providers and staff, and features cme accreditedsessions that address a full range of services and research interests. This gathering represents the intersection of leaders and practitionersin family planning and abortion who are seeking to engage the mostcurrent and innovative dialogue related to safe, convenient,high-quality reproductive health care through research, discussion, andsharing of robust evidence-based practice recommendations.
