I have worked as a volunteer with the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh for the past 35 years and it has been an extremely rewarding experience. The volunteer members of the Society are dedicated to promoting science and conducting science outreach activities from the Kindergarten to the professional level to advance an understanding and appreciation of science. As a high school teacher for most of those years, my school and my students have benefited greatly from those activities.
