I am a co-founder of S.A.F.E. Our purpose in creating S.A.F.E. in was to address the issues with underage drinking in rural communities. Rural areas provide limited resources for high school students to enjoy their free time while being safe. Inspiration for our quest to provide a Sober And Fun Environment for students was spurred from tragic, fatal car accidents involving driving while intoxicated. These unfortunate events had students grieving for their peers and passionate for a change in their community. We wanted to build a facility for students to enjoy in the absence of alcohol and other drugs, as an alternative to drinking. Today the S.A.F.E. program has be implemented in schools throughout the county to provide activities for students that want to have social interactions without the consequences that alcohol can impose.
