Mission: To serve and empower underprivileged at risk populations through life skills development, educational training, vocational training and mentorship to prevent them from re-entering the foster and judicial system, repeating at risk, poverty and homelessness cycles. The organization is supported by a dedicated and committed board of directors, volunteers, sponsors, educators and stakeholders.
Programs: The organization was awarded its wasc accreditation as a postsecondary education program in june 2012, and now offers accredited certification programs to those needing educational and vocational training as a means to break the cycle of generation poverty and obtain self-sufficiency. As a result, all programs developed meet the established wasc criteria and our first postsecondary vocational certification program in culinary arts was introduced and has seen an average 66% graduation rate among highly at-risk populations that average only 20% rate of graduation from similar programs. The actual 2013 completed rate per wasc accreditation standards is 242, dropped were 65. Of those completed, 96 received an a in their courses, 25 received a b, 8 received a c, 4 received a d and 23 received an f (dropped). Of our 2013 traditional educational and vocational courses - total students were 364. 166 of those were males and 229 were females. Our g. E. D. Program has seen an 85% average pass rate among our extremely high risk students with 78 students passing as compared to an average 3% across riverside county. 75% of our students are extremely low-income based on federal income guidelines.

Smooth Transition is a great place for youth and low income families to get a second chance.
The organization provides great services like various classes of life skills, computer science, GED, Language, and a Culinary. All classes are certified, and our services are free except for the Culinary certificate program which costs a small admission fee. I enjoyed volunteering with Smooth Transition Inc. I learned a lot and made wonderful friends and it was a great experience for me. I had to go back to volunteer with Smooth Transition Inc. again.
