In the middle of 2017, and in one of the directorates of the province of Hajjah in northern Yemen .. My experience was to work as a volunteer with Smile Organization for Relief and Development (SORD). Because of the ongoing war in that province, all local and international organizations refrained from carrying out relief projects there. There, the affected people were suffering from war damage and floods at the same time, and they were badly needed shelter and food assistance. With funding from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), SORD team moved towards the implementation of the Shelter Distribution Project for those affected in the targeted areas. Thus providing relief to those affected and breaking the fear barrier at other organizations and relief agencies.

As a local organization founded in 2015 and headquartered in Yemen, SORD has helped more than 50000 people .The primary goals of SORD are to help affected people by war.., hunger relief, medical aid, disaster relief, gender equality, young people to achieve their ambitions and vulnerable children and orphan care that will make a significant long-term impact on those in need. Through a network of domestic and international partners including individual donors, volunteers, and corporations, SORD maximizes and leverages resources to respond strategically in an ever-changing world.
