Causes: Animals, Wildlife Sanctuaries
Mission: It is our mission at Slade Sanctuary to provide an awesome community Outreach source, while providing a wildlife refuge for mustangs, and horses from slaughter.
Results: We have saved 3 paints from Slaughter. A pregnant mare and her colt. The mare now Lightning, her colt now Thunder, and her foal Little rain. All are doing great. Lightning is now 11, Thunder is now 3, Little rain is now 1. We are working with them on trust, and halter training. Little rain will stand for his halter to be put on. Thunder will now lift his hooves for us. Lightning has been through so much, and will take a lot of work. She comes up to me, let's me pet her, and I can give her scratches and butt rubs and kiss on her. She will not let us put halters on her, but will smell and let us get close to her. We will keep building trust and working at her pace.
