Mission: Skills development mission provides english literacy classes, ged preparation, educational enrichment afterschool programs and minority science research internships.
Programs: The sdm is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, organization with the mission to reach, teach, and empower the under-privileged, under-represented, and the low income under-skilled individuals. We confront at grassroots, by going to where these students live, the issues that are unique with our clients. Sdm the worst hit group - the migrant workers and refugees in kennewick, richland, and pasco our programs provide youth leadership, youth mentoring, and increasing the education achievements of k-12 students. Sdm does not have paid but an important gap that no other organization tackles. Public schools have trouble handling the boom of students with low english skills but sdm has helped to bridge that gap by educating and preparing new generations of future workforce . We also kept them from gang and criminal activities,lowered extreme religious views, and developed better functioning adults. The education of these students directly translates to helping their parents.
