Sisters road to freedom is an amazing organization. They have help us more times that I can count . They have helped us with food for our family they have helped us with clothing and diapers for our little ones. They are truly amazing!
This non profit is the best in Lexington always going above and beyond to help our people!!! They give out food, clothing, every week when I was sick one of the women even made me soup and a lot of prayers they are truly a blessing for the people of Lexington and if you haven’t been in stop by and say hello!!! Thanks for everything!!
they provide assistance to people on the most essential levels with food, clothing and other basic daily life needs. while they may be limited at times by the resources of their benefactors, there is surely no limit to the charity and good will of their heart. they do not turn away anyone in need but rather, without any red tape criteria, make every effort to help those who come to them for help. i am honored to be a part of their mission in any way that i can be.
Friendly helpful people providing lots of different vegetables, breads, sweets twice a week. Usually clothing as well. No ID needed or personal questions. I only wish they had it more than an hour on Wed but i guess they don't have the time.
I found myself in need of food, and this place had food to give. They are kind, non-judgemental and I felt very safe in seeking out help.
For at least 3 yrs I have been a client. In 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, my teen, and I, began volunteering every Wednesday. We were so grateful the Director allowed us to start volunteering at that time. It got us out of the house, and provided a safe way to help in our community. As a client, since we consume primarily whole foods, we really appreciate the option to get whole foods, compared to other pantries that have primarily overly processed nonfoods available.
I've been disabled since surviving childbirth over 17 years ago. I have dealt with mild brain damage, and multiple chronic health issues. Volunteering with Sisters Road to Freedom has personally helped me in multiple ways. It gives me a positive reason to look forward to getting out of the house, and feel like a more useful & productive person. I get to engage with people in my community. In addition, I'm occasionally asked & able to utilize my graphic design skills, and creativity, for this nonprofit. I truly appreciate the opportunity to use those skills, since I started going to school for GD over 18 yrs ago. Due to my health issues, I have not been able to pursue a full time career in graphic design.
Sisters Road To Freedom has been a food source for me & my family both pre-Covid pandemic, & during. We are very grateful for it's existence & for the kind volunteers that supply, organize, & run it!
Sisters Road to Freedom is a fantastic organization that offers so much for our patients. The staff go above and beyond to fulfill the needs of our patient population. Additionally, as a community partner, they are my first choice when collaborating on community events. So thankful to know and work with this agency!
An amazing organization..that helps with a little of everything from food, clothes and jobs..they people are so kind and amazing..they are a true blessing to the community
i love them! i'm so thankful to be able to access healthy groceries . Therese and her crew are welcoming, discrete and nonjudgmental . i felt none of the shame or scrutiny that i felt from a previous food bank . these people are the real deal, are very kind and work hard to help Lexington .
Sisters Road to Freedom is a blessing to my family and I know many others. Lots of fresh, healthy organic vegetables and free clothing is a must in a poverty-stricken community. Therese the founder, is a delight to see and really cares about your needs and provides what is needed. She is a true blessing to the community as well as the volunteers who make sure everyone has what they need. I am so glad I found this organization.
