Mission: Sfi deepens people's scientific understanding and intimate connection to the klamath-siskiyou bioregion by providing educational programs and dynamic outdoor experiences to a broad spectrum of the public.
Programs: Sfi provided natural history education about the klamath-siskiyou bioregion to over 400 members of the general public in 2016. It also served approximately 1700 students, providing them with science field studies that taught them about salmon and rivers, their watershed, and local flora and fauna. Researchers at the deer creek center (the facility that houses sfi) provided additional learning opportunities, as sfi shared their work with the general public through posters, presentation, etc. Deer creek center provided facilities and services to multiple researchers and organizations to support education programs and research activities related to the klamath siskiyou region. The center served as a research center and the classroom and facilities were used for educational programs and for youth programs. Private functions were held at the campus along with government sponsored functions.
