Kelly Carey and her volunteer staff of Silverstray Social are absolutely amazing! They work so hard, so passionately! I have been to one of their “FREE” Microchip clinics as a one day volunteer and observed what they were doing for the animals and community of Gary IN. and was blown away by the organization of the monthly event and the compassion Silverstray showed to both the residents and the animals. Stations were set up, one being a veterinarian assisting with the animals, another giving shots, another doing the microchip implants during the event. Every last detail down to Silverstray making sure that there were water bowls placed so the animals wouldn’t be thirsty on a hot summers day! At the last station Silverstay volunteers were passing out food and toys for the animals generously donated by businesses and other donors! When you first arrive at one of Silverstray’s events, the lines of cars you can see waiting for their turn at these much needed “no cost” clinics tugs at your heartstrings . Silverstray even has pamphlets made to hand out to the people of the Gary community in case they may need some help in other areas of their life but are not sure where to find it. Needless to say,(not only at these free monthly clinics) Kelly and crew go above and beyond to show their love, support and aid to the less fortunate furry friends. Whether it be finding a home for an animal needing adoption, to microchipping, RESCUING or raising funds for an animal’s surgery, they never give up!!!!. The list goes on and on, but I see Kelly Carey leading Silverstray almost on a daily basis and know how much the animal kingdom is blessed by her and her amazing volunteers!

Silverstray Social has made a profound impact on the Gary, IN community. Pet families are so grateful for the services that we provide that they are in line hours before our clinics open. It is thrilling to see the community come to life! I am grateful to be part of such an important and inspiring program! Kelly’s mission and drive to help underserved communities get the support they need to keep their beloved pets is unmatched.

Kelly of Silverstray is doing amazing work with the animals and community of Gary Indiana. Kelly, along with volunteers, generously devote their time and energy to the wellbeing of countless dogs and cats. I seen pictures of the lines of cars of families and their pets waiting for vaccinations, etc. I love seeing the smiling faces of the grateful pet owners! Silverstray keep up the good work!

Silverstray helped us keep our furbabies. Shots, spaying/neutering, microchips are all so expensive. We have many animals. Most of them are older or not adoptable.
This organization helps in so many ways. They also provide resources and much needed advice. They help with feral cat communities. They help trap, get them spayed/ neutered and release them back to their neighborhood. We struggled for years trying to help the feral cat community in our neighborhood. Trying to feed them, catch and spay the females on a very limited income. We watched over our feral community but it kept growing and growing. Now with the help of Silverstray we can get not just the females spayed but get the males neutered too.
This service is excellent in helping to control the feral cat population. Everyone associated with Silverstray is helpful, genuine, caring, and they all go above and beyond. Thank you for all you do to help these innocent animals live their healthy best lives!

“Silverstray” is proving to be a godsend not only to the animal world, but to families and communities as well! Kelly Carey, the non profits founder and leader of “Silverstray” is currently involved in offering people of Gary, IN. much needed services such as rabies and distemper vaccines, microchips, spay and neutering for their beloved pets as well as TNR . These services often aren’t affordable and for families to be able to have this done for their pets is a burden lifted off their shoulders. Our pets are our family and keeping them safe and healthy is not only an obligation but a necessity. Kelly and her superb team of dedicated volunteers work relentlessly in organizing, promoting and staffing clinics for the families of Gary to bring their pets to receive these free services. At these clinics Kelly and her team also distribute pet donations gifted by generous donors ! What a sight it is to see cars of families lined up with their furry friends to receive these invaluable services given to them by Silverstray! Thank you Kelly for your unwavering devotion to the animal kingdom! Thank you Kelly and all the kind team members involved in bringing smiles and caring to a community, building them up, and generating a positive, healthy and helpful environment. Sometimes, it’s not just about what we do for our pets, but what our pets do for us!

I am cat dude myself. I grew up in Griffith right next door to Gary so I’m familiar with how many cats are around Gary. I recently learned about TNR (Trap Neuter release) and it’s my favorite thing to invest in. Silverstray has one of the best programs for tnr.

My kids found a 2, 2 week old kittens down the street under a car. We made a few calls and was leads to Silverstray. They helps trap and Spay/ neuter and release. The love and compassion they had for what they do bring so much joy to my heart. Thank Silverstray Social ya'll are amazing!

Our microchip clinics are reuniting pets to families! Therefore clearing out space at local Animal control. Our neutering and spaying of pits, other dogs, and cats is truly making dents in unwanted pet populations.

Every move and every penny is directly into an animal and directly effecting a pet family. I will never leave. This is so unique. This organization is truly pursuing a community often left behind.
