Mission: Silver creek institute (sci), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in rural two harbors, mn, is dedicated to serving as a working model of sustainable living. Sci is intended as a resource for individuals and communities, both rural and urban, who are committed to the holistic frameworks of sustainability. New technologies, as well as time- tested techniques are featured throughout scis work showcasing and promoting the use of sustainable practices in areas of agriculture, energy, and community planning. Programs: Mn renewable energy exchange (mn rec-x): mn rec-x is a web-based marketing opportunity to facilitate two distinct achievements: (1) the auction of renewable energy credits for existing and proposed clean energy projects, and (2) a public campaign that increases awareness of the need for these projects. Funding facilitated research for design, development and feasibility by tom kuras. Sustainability collective: an online database and meeting for natural resource and clean energy entities located in ne minnesota designed to enhance collaboration, contact and coordination amongst entities. Funding facilitated the development of scis website and the online tool by b2 technologies with work coordinated by cree bradley and mike essien.
