Mission: Sightline institute's mission is to make cascadia a global model of sustainability -- strong communities, a green economy, and a healthy environment. We equip citizens and decision-makers with policy research and practical tools that help advance long-term solutions to those challenges. Our work includes in-depth research, commentary, and analysis, delivered online, by email, and in-person to northwest policy champions, emerging leaders, and a range of community partners.
Programs: Research, analysis, publication, and dissemination of solutions for the creation of a more sustainable region.
The very detailed and fair analysis they did in 2016 addressing the pros and cons on CarbonWA's (failed) carbon tax initiative was excellent -- really helpful for sorting the facts from the BS from both sides. Great work.
Professional with expertise in this field
As a staffer at a fellow nonprofit focused on sustainability issues, I couldn't speak more highly of Sightline. They provide sound research that we at the Oregon Environmental Council rely on to develop public policy, and their messaging best practices are so helpful to us in ensuring that we're speaking to people's values. We're so glad that Sightline's serving the Pacific Northwest!
