Mission: Our belief that education and opportunity are rights fundamental to all children guides our mission: transforming the lives of children in need through powerful programs that allow them to discover their self-worth, realize their potential, and become productive citizens. We help kids discover the best in themselves so they can grow up to do good in the world.
Results: Sherwood Forest provides year-round out-of-school and summer programs for low-income and economically disadvantaged youth. We are unique in our ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships with our campers and their families. Ultimately, Sherwood Forest provides youth with the tools needed to become successful adults and to ensure that all youth are able to transition to economic self-sufficiency in early adulthood. • 70% of youth participating in our 2014 programs were return campers, which speaks to our ability to develop sustaining, long-term relationships with our campers and their families. • 100% of youth who have completed the Leadership Training Program since 2004 have graduated from high school. • 93% of Leadership Training Program graduates who have remained in contact with us over the last three decades no longer live in poverty.
