Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: To advance, promote, and teach the art and science of fly fishing, as well as to promote the conservation of public recreational resources and the protection and preservation of the populations of wild fresh water, salt water, and migratory game fish in our streams and lakes.
Programs: Monthly public meetings where speakers present programs on fish conservation and environmental issues, fish migration and procreation issues, catch and release fishing techniques, entomology, watershed protection, fly casting and fly tying instruction, and river and stream clean up projects.
youth education programs including participation in local high school physical education fly tying and fly casting classes, sponsorship of fly fishing/conservation camp for disadvantaged youth, providing speakers and instruction to youth groups.
project healing waters provides educational opportunities and support to disabled veterans through fly tying and casting classes, participant outings, and donations.
fly casting and fly tying instructional course provided to the general public; approximately six classes presented each year plus demonstrations at annual salmon festival, local sport shows, and other local events.
