Mission: The organization provides assistance to orphans in ukraine. This assistance is for the purpose of meeting medical, nutritional, and clothing needs of orphans. Visits with orphans on a regular basis are made to assess their needs and to build personal relationships with these children.
Programs: Orphanage/orphanage graduate visits:share the hope serves about 150 orphans from three orphanages in the odessa region of ukraine as well as about 50 children who are from difficult family situations. Share the hope's missionary in odessa conducts and coordinates 40 to 50 orphanage visits per year plus visits to an orphanage summer camp every day during the three summer months. In western ukraine, share the hope reaches about 150 children in two orphanages, providing lessons in english and bible and leading the children in sports and craft activities. The missionary also leads a one week summer camp for about 50 orphans and serves at two other camps that reach about 100 children. Overall, the purpose of these visits is to build relationships with the orphans and to assess and address some of their physical, social, material and spiritual needs; as well as to share the christian faith with the children and their teachers. Share the hope representatives in both odessa and western ukraine meet regularly with up to about 30 orphanage graduates to assist them in making the adjustments to independent life after the orphanage.
boys home project:the goal of the boys home project is to assist orphan graduates in making the transition from the orphanage to living a productive life of independence. Share the hope has funded the construction of three houses for three young couples, each of which includes an orphanage graduate. All three houses were completed in 2016. The total cost of the land and for construction for the three houses was about $108,000. In the summer of 2017 the boys home project purchased another piece of land and in december the foundations were dug and poured.
adoption fund:in 2017, share the hope's adoption fund was used to assist a family in the adoption of a brother and sister from odessa. New hope transition home:beginning in september 2017, share the hope has been supporting new hope transition home for orphan graduates which is the step between the orphanage and renting to own one of the boys home project homes. There are currently 5 orphanage graduate boys living with house parents as part of the family as they study in trade schools. The organization hopes to have space for up to 11 orphan graduates in the future.
