Share My Smile

Share my smile is small but mighty. They truly care about the foster and adoptive communities and are working to connect families together. This organizations programs are directly impacting the foster kids themselves with backpacks and birthday boxes, but also provides opportunities for the families as a whole to get to spend time together fostering a sense of belonging. The staff works so terribly hard to get to know each family and to execute each program fully. They’re amazing.

I’ve been volunteering with Share My Smile for the past few months, so I’ve seen first-hand how they’ve tremendously impacted foster families. Through bonding events, fundraisers, and festivals, Share My Smile has done whatever possible to help those within their community. I absolutely LOVE their commitment to bringing joy to providing support to children in the foster system!

Share My Smile supports foster, adoptive and kinship families with thier programs (birthday and Christmas gift help), activities(rollerskating, Smilefest,Holiday dinner) and community engagement partnerships (Rose Theatre, Storm Chasers). My granddaughters and I enjoy being a part of this wonderfully supportive and engaging organization

I started volunteering with Share My Smile a year ago. Some of these children come to foster care with nothing. The organization makes sure they have Christmas gifts and birthday boxes. The team is awesome to work with, we share the goal of smiles on the faces of the kids.

I have been volunteering with Share My Smile since 2015. I have been honored to help them in their mission to provide amazing programs and services FREE to foster families and children. They provide birthday boxes to the children the month of their birthday, backpacks filled with necessities when a child enters a new foster home, a catered annual holiday dinner free to families where the kids make crafts, get a free toy, book, and stuffed animal, and families pictures with families. During November and December, they offer the opportunity to sponsor kids' wish lists so they have presents under the Christmas tree. And they offer so much more to help these families and children through difficult times. I highly recommend Share My Smile to foster families and potential donors. What they do truly helps the community as a whole.

We're so thankful for Share My Smile. Being seen and supported in very specific ways has been a game changer for us. Our nearby county ambassador has provided a number of opportunities for us to meet other families and kids who are like us and we have been very thankful for opportunities to be together and play together.

A great organization that has foster kids and families at the forefront of their thinking. They help so many families in Southwest Iowa. A variety of activities are planned throughout the year and birthdays and Christmas is remembered for each child.

I have been a part of SMS since the beginning. I love the birthday boxes for the kids but always look forward to the holiday dinner where I get to catch up with my foster families I have known for years. The activities throughout the year are well thought out to be inclusive and fun for the whole family. the volunteers are absolutely the best. My kids are always treated so well.

As a new foster family, Share My Smile has been such a great encouragement & support. When we were placed with 2yo & 4yo siblings we had very little for them & SMS very quickly brought us care bags loaded with fun & useful items & the kids were thrilled to have some things of their own after coming to us with nearly nothing. We are also so thankful for their Christmas gift program that will be a huge help to our family this year with 5 kids in our home.

Over a year ago, I started a position as a volunteer coordinator for SMS. This past year has been a blast! its been great being able to help out with the community and also be given the opportunity to get people within my school and circle of friends involved too. Watching foster families glow with smiles as they enjoy events that Share My Smile has hosted is a blessing and a pleasure to be apart of. Not only do I love the opportunities and affect SMS has on the community, but I also adore the board and all members apart of conducting the activities of SMS, as they are all so kind and patient.

We have our great great grandson and his mother his birthday ������ came and Share My Smile showed up with a gift box with everything in it to have him a party including Cake fixing to make him a birthday cake. With all this they even gave him several gift cards. They check on their families and have plenty for them to do.

This is a great nonprofit charity that help children that get taken out of there homes that have not very good parents and put them in a foster home and give all the stuff they need it is an amazing charity
