Causes: Environment, Garden Clubs
Mission: Sequim Prairie Garden Club is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that promotes charitable and educational purposes by educating the community in gardening, floral design, conservation, landscape architecture and design. The care of Pioneer Memorial Park, the clubhouse and historical artifacts is the primary civic responsibility of our organization. We have monthly meetings in the Pioneer Memorial Park clubhouse with educational presentations open to the public. We meet at 10:00 am on the first Monday of the month, holiday Mondays deferred to the following Monday. The club sponsors holiday parties and picnics. Members take field trips to local nurseries and gardens. We sponsor various fundraisers for park and clubhouse maintenance as well as scholarships for high school seniors.
Results: Pioneer Memorial Park and the garden clubhouse were the first gathering places in the city of Sequim. Sequim Prairie Garden Club (SPGC) created the park out of an abandoned cemetery and built the garden clubhouse with help from the community. The club signed a 99-year lease with the cemetery association in 1951. Clubhouse reservations and various fundraisers pay for all maintenance and improvements to the park and the building. Most gardening is performed by club members.
Target demographics: Our civic responsibility is to maintain and beautify the clubhouse and park with it's historical artifacts
Direct beneficiaries per year: Maintain and improve Pioneer Memorial Park, a 4 acre city park and provide two scholarships to graduating Sequim High School students

Programs: We provide monthly public educational programs to promote an interest and knowledge of plants, general gardening, landscape design and an increase awareness of conservation and the environment.
