Mission: Senior services supports the independence and dignity of adults. We provide three core services, these include health and nutrition, transportation to wellness and safeguarding our seniors. Our services and programs allow an older adult to have a better quality of life while they remain living, as they desire, in their own home.
Programs: Health and nutrition - best known for meals on wheels, our home delivered meal program served 63,253 hot and nutritious daily meals to low-income older adults. Each noontime meal meets 1/3 of their daily nutritional requirements. Total revenue from grants, contributions, and donated revenue for fiscal year 2014 was $577,268.
health and nutrition (cont'd) - the agency operates senior centers in our region. 7,245 congregate meals were served at senior centers in addition to providing health screenings, exercise sessions and wellness programs to older adults. health and nutrition (cont'd) - program center operationssenior services of northern kentucky's health and nutrition program provides health and wellness classes to its elderly community. In addition to the congregrate meals that support physical health, we employ a variety of activities and classes to improve body strength and emotional support. Classes like tai chi are popular with our elderly, and we have a variety of exercise machines that improve muscle mass and help with balance. Lifestyle improvement classes include smoking cessation program and nutrition and weight management. These centers provide socialization which helps ward off depression and self-neglect. Total revenue from grants, contributions, and donated revenue for fiscal year 2014 was $741,119.
