Causes: Human Services, Senior Centers, Seniors
Mission: The mission of senior connections is to provide services to the aging of our community which promote health, dignity, honor and independence. In doing so, we will efficiently provide access to low cost transportation, nutritious meals and other services designed to sustain our citizens in their communities. Senior connections will continually assess the needs of the elderly within the county and utilize available resources to provide needed services. Where possible, our programs will be targeted to serve the frail elderly, minorities and persons with the greatest social and economic need.
Programs: Senior connections provides congregate nutrition services through one of seven congregate meal sites. We provide nutritionally balanced meals monday through friday to persons age 60 and over. Senior connections also provides home delivered meals to eligible residents of the county age 60 and over. These meals are delivered to individuals homes who are unable to transport to congregate sites. The meals are delivered monday through friday throughout the city of superior and on weekday schedules throughout the rural area of douglas county.
senior connections provides specialized transportation services to the elderly and disabled in our community. These services are provided on a curb to curb basis in lowered floor handicapped accessible vehicles. A fee is charged for this services which is dependent on the location of delivery of the individual.
