Mission: Founded in 1967, the senior adult activity center of indian valley provides support services to adults age 55 and older so that they remain active, healthy, and independent. See schedule o for more detail.
Programs: Social and educational services for the elderly through a wide variety of programs and activities. The center also provides an on-site social worker to provide additional support and services.
congregate and meals on wheels meal programs. The congregate meal program provides a daily hot meal which meets at least 1/3 of the recommended daily allowance for nutrition as well as the social value of joining others for healthy eating and conversation. 16,738 meals were served during the year. Meals on wheels program benefits approximately 200 homebound individuals each day. During the year, approximately 323 volunteers assisted in delivering over 93,000 meals.
the trips program offers a variety of day and extended trips to suit the interests, needs and budgets of the center's members. There are approximately 6-8 trips planned each month. Day trips and outings are scheduled utilizing the center's 25-passenger bus. Destinations include art and history museums, dinner theaters, gardens, hiking venues, restaurants, baseball games and concerts. Trips of longer distances are usually offered via a hired coach. There are also occasional extended trips planned, such as trips to lake george, great trains & grand canyons, and albuquerque balloon fiesta.
