Mission: Promote food banking in asia to increase food security and respond to natural disasters. Provide grants and technical assistance to institutions developing their own food bank system or conducting food banking operations.
Programs: Sharing best practices and promote food banking within asia:second harvest asia provided grants to food banks and organizations in the region to increase their capacity to provide food assistance to those in need. Second harvest asia held the annual regional meeting association of asian foodbanks in tokyo (november 1-4) in which food bank representing taiwan, hong kong, malaysia, singapore, philippines, and japan participated in a day-long public symposium, visited local nonprofits and held a regional conference
