I volunteer at the food pantry so I get to see Dr.April in action. She senses when a person is In Distress and on the spot offers comfort , advice and a healing prayer. She and this organization really walk the walk with the clients. No one is turned away and everyone leaves not just with food but with words of support and encouragement. At Second Chance they learn that they have value and purpose and no one goes away without!
Let's be honest with you I thought that by going to the classes that I were taking with Miss April will be beneficial to me I had a lot of fun and I got some things out of it when it came to me getting help towards the things that I needed to be doing because of my past and because of the things that I were involved in she didn't want to help me I wanted to know how I could get back into my nursing what steps that I need to take because I was in trouble in the past and I was trying to get over that stump and try to better myself by going in back into the career that I always dreamed of I had that going for myself but I had got into some little trouble back in 2000 and it went downhill from there but I thought the class would take me to a better place when I started telling her my story she didn't started talking about what I was doing in my life and and the people that I hung around with and so I'm still overloaded and I was still trying to figure out what can I do to take the steps to get back into the career that I want to be in she told me I had to do this this this and that as far as my lifestyle before she wouldn't even think about helping me get back into the nursing field in other words the people that I hang around the places that I were going she was looking in more into that and not until not into the fact that I was coming to her to get through those steps but everybody else she would help send them back to school teach them how to go here give them the necessary means to get where they want to go but when it came to certain people she has a real problem so in that point I don't go get any food from our place and she told my donations people giving some how you going to give something to the homeless community when you're charging them for it that's how you building all these new buildings and going all over and beyond all you know out here with the rich people are you got to know where you came from and realize where you came from and not turn your head toward the people that's downward don't forget you got a lot of people in your past too you've always not been that bright so I do not recommend her services to anyone

Ms April visited my brother in law church a while back and helped him implement giving clothes and food to the needy. Which helped me tremendously because I had taken in 3 children that was being abused... the good work she started was just in time... Im Gratful
I would like to highly recommend The Second Chance Last Opportunity that operates by kindest hearted Dr. April Glasco for being the most responsive community organization our society needed.
What can I say? April Glasco is one of those rare individuals who sincerely cares about our community and those who are in need. She treats each and every individual who utilizes the program with respect and as if they were her own.
Volunteers for the program are equally as compassionate as Ms. Glasco. I’m sure that April would not have a volunteer who didn’t display compassion for those who are in need.
I think that she makes all who need the services offered feel that they are someone special! She displays nothing but love and care to those in need.
Second Chance Last Opportunity has been a blessing to me. I have gone through several of their programs. The one that had the biggest impact was their womens self empowerment classes. Dr April made me understand I need take care of myself not just others. My life has changed so much since I got involved with this nonprofit.

I have know SCLO for at least 15 years. I have seen the leadership programs they offer especially to women in need. They provide assistance to all in need. One specific event that happened when April and I walked the neighborhood. April reached out as SCLO and provided guidance to a very young mother in need. In addition I have had to opportunity to emcee a few of their luncheons where we highlighted services offered and positive effects on our residents.

I honestly have never met anyone like Ms April, she is an amazing, caring , supportive woman ! I've been going to her for about 2 years now. I live in Palmetto and she has went out of her way to meet up with me closer just to give me diapers and a Thanksgiving meal. I will forever be grateful for everything she has helped my family with ! My son still sleeps in the crib she gave me the first time I went to her ! A true inspiration for sure, words honestly couldn't express how grateful we are. THANK YOU SECOND CHANCE LAST OPPORTUNITY! ! !
I had never heard of Second Chance Last Opportunity until last April 2020 when Covid struck. I found out that April Glasco had been running a mental health empowerment agency in Newton, Sarasota Florida. I heard that her past and present clients were overwhelmed with fear - lost jobs, lost homes, no food, scared to get sick. I rallied some friends and they rallied others and together we started bringing food and baby and personal items over several times a week. Everyone fell in Love with SCLO and as we watched the hundreds of clients wait patiently 2-3 times a week, and April greeting them in their cars patiently asking how they were and what they needed and letting them know that she cared and was there for them, we could not help but stay connected to this amazing woman and her agency. She is a treasure.
