Mission: SYIN was founded because youth wanted a means for being involved in community decision making. Youth are too often left out of policy discussions on issues that directly impact them. SYIN facilitates youth involvement in these issues, as well as developing projects that enhance the leadership skills of Seattle's youth. We host forums, service projects, training, and on-going leadership projects where 1,000 youth participate annually. At the same time, SYIN strives for a society in which youth are respected as powerful leaders and active community members.
