Causes: Education, Preschools, Primary & Elementary Schools
Mission: Seabury school challenges gifted children in a community that cherishes each individual and fosters a love of learning, discovery and creativity. Seabury is a 501c(3) independent school serving children from prek through grade 8, and supported through tuition, fees, and fundraising. Seabury also provides resources for gifted children and their parents in the community through summer enrichment camps, parenting programs, and an annual speaker series. Fundraising and gifts enhance seabury's program and facilities, and enable seabury to make the program accessible to more families.
Programs: Seabury's school program, including before and after school care, served 85 gifted students in 2016-2017. Seabury school is the only independent school in the south puget sound region that specializes in instruction for highly capable / gifted children and therefore draws students from throughout the region for its engaging, challenging programs and support for the unique needs of gifted children.
summer at seabury offers a wide range of hands-on enrichment camps that give students from across the community the chance to explore and discover, making summer learning fun. In 2017, summer at seabury ran for 5 weeks and served a total of 107 children.
seabury has been engaged by a korean educational institution to develop curriculum based on the seabury model for the korea poly school in korea and to train teachers in it's implementation.
