Mission: Established in 1884 as St. Francis Academy and renamed St. Bonaventure High School in 1925, a corporation was formed on November 25, 1964 and the school was again renamed as Scotus Central Catholic Jr/Sr High School.
Today, Scotus is the largest Catholic secondary school in Nebraska, outside of Lincoln and Omaha. The school was named after Blessed John Duns Scotus, a 14th century Franciscan scholar known for his defense of the Immaculate Conception doctrine.
The school's mission statement reads: "Scotus Central Catholic High School assures all students the opportunity to receive a faith-based Catholic education through academic excellence and diverse extracurricular activities."
