Dollars were raised for schuyler hospital and the skilled nursing units. A portion of the undesignated capital and equipment dollars donated to schuyler hospital ($27,892) were utilized for ent start-up costs and clinic renovations. These purchases will increase the quality, diversity, and accuracy of care received by the patients.
in addition, funds were raised for the skilled nursing facility. In 2017, there was a release of 2016 campaign dollars in order to fund the upgrade to the lobby area as well as shower renovations to some of the residents' bathrooms. These purchases increase the safety and comfort to the residents and their families.
schuyler health foundation receives dollars for specific needs of a specific hospital department. In 2017 $1,063 was expended for miscellaneous needs in the med surge and skilled nursing facility resident activity, education, and outdoor space items.
in 1996, schuyler hospital was named the beneficiary of a portion of a trust upon the death of a local individual (mack trust). This asset was transferred to the schuyler health foundation at that time. In july 2017, the trust money was received and the board voted to fund schuyler hospital's frozen defined benefit pension plan for $1,126,298. This action was meant to assist schuyler hospital with their goal to fully fund the plan.
