The School of Athens members didn't hesitate to assist with delivering food and needed items to our Veterans who were not able to make it to the local food drives. I believe this group is without a doubt an asset to the community.
The School Of Athens is a wonderful nonprofit because the founder sees a problem and sets out to fix it. As far as I have seen in the past few years, there is no problem too small and those are often the problems that get passed over because "there are bigger issues". In my experience, when you address the "small" issues, it tends to stop the formation of "bigger issues". Also, when you are addressing the small issues, you tend to create a community of people that see what a "small change" can make and want to help make more.
One of my favorite donations was to help pay off a lunch deficit at a school. While at the school for another purpose, Michael saw there were children not eating lunch. He questioned the staff, found there was a lunch bill that was three figures, but without being paid - could not continue to provide lunches to those that couldn't afford them. He made a video, explained the situation and set a goal to help remedy it. It was so simple to fix, in the relm of the world's issues, yet there was just no funding to to cover the cost - but the impact was enormously imporant to the growth, development and quality of life for those children not getting that meal.
I like to know exactly who my donation is helping. The School Of Athens brings a unique, personal, attachment to each project, including the involvement of his children and wife. Together they have succeeded in being the example of the a difference a "small" change can make when you address it head on , instead of passing it by - waiting for someone else to take the initiative.
This charity does an excellent job at keeping all those who donate informed on...
- Why the money is needed
- How the money is used
They're also on top of new, creative ideas that gives these kids the best opportunity to succeed and get a great education. Their ability to wipe out school lunch debt is just one example of their incredible reach and sense of community they've established within a fast-growing organization, easily one of the best I've seen in Oklahoma.
School of Athens is doing great work for the community of Lawton and surrounding areas. I have done my best support all its causes. If they are provided with more support, it is my opinion they would do even greater things.
School of Athens is a wonderful nonprofit organization. They give special care to local schools in need of overdue lunch bills as well as back to school backpacks filled with many useful school items.
Besides providing donations for many local schools, the School of Athens purchases and places American flags on gravesites of American Veterans.
School of Athens is a great organization. It's a community charity in every sense. School of Athens reaches out in a variety of ways to a broad spectrum of children and adults from various places with different needs. Beyond fundraising and volunteering, this organization strives to bring awareness to a wide range of relevant issues. No doubt the world would be a better place if there were more non-profits like School of Athens.
