Mission: The mission of scheurer hospital is to support a full and healthier lifestyle by providing access to high quality health care in a rural area.
Programs: Provision of medical services in a rural area. Hospital inpatient services were provided to 421 patients for a total of 1,243 patient days. The swing bed program provided additional hospital inpatient services to 142 patients for a total of 1,875 days of care. 42,257 patients received outpatient services in addition to 6,732 redi-care visits.
scheurer hospital operates a long term care facility which provided 6,382 days of care.
additional health care is provided throughout the surrounding area by three physician clinics as well as a hospital based rural health clinic. The purpose of these clinics is to provide health care in an economically depressed and underserved area in the "thumb" of michigan. The number of office visits provided was 32,967.
scheurer hospital is operating and staffing two school health clinics. One is located in the elkton-pigeon-bay port laker school. The other is located in the caseville public school. The purpose of these clinics is to increase health care availability to students with a focus on obesity. The number of visits during fy-2017 were 5,829.
