On 7/14/15, a Craigslist ad was posted by the owner of Saving Grace Rescue. The operator of this rescue stated that they do not have the resources to care for their personal dog at this time. The ad requested to re-home her personal dog for a 'donation' and mentioned they purchased the dog for at least $3,000. They stated that the person who took the dog could breed her if they allow the rescue owner to take 'first pick of the litter.' Reputable breeders do not do these activities.
This especially seems odd, as their website says that 'pitbulls' and pitbull type dogs are difficult to find homes for. Yet, she wants to breed an American Bulldog?
When asked for information about charity status and EIN number, the owner of the rescue refused to answer and instead deleted the organization's Facebook profile.
Meanwhile, they continue to collect donations with the goal of raising $15,000 to build only a well on a property. A plot of land, and a facility would cost much more than $15,000.
This 'rescue' organization has very troubling and problematic morals surrounding animal rescue.
