Mission: Prescription drug abuse is the nation's fastest growing drug epidemic. The save a star drug awareness foundation brings attention to the disease of prescription drug abuse and addiction by promoting awareness, education and resources. The foundation is committed to the safe collection and disposal of drugs as another means of minimizing the cycle of prescription drug abuse.
Programs: Provide funding to the drug enforcement agency foundation to raise awareness of drug abuse and the disease of addiction and volunteer involvement on its board.
the drug disposal program stresses the prevention of drug abuse by collecting prescription and other drugs and assisting municipalities with proper and licensed drug disposal. Collection and disposal drop boxes are placed in law enforcement facilities with monitored access in cities with populations of 10,000 or more to allow for the collection of controlled substances.
raise awareness of the widespread nature of prescription drug abuse and addiction through educational programs, school and community forums, special events, scholarships, lobbying for strong drug distribution controls and the local media.
