I have had the wonderful opportunity to tour the gardens and learn all about the contributions that Sanzuma makes to the community in Marin. It's very important for children to learn life skills and that's a huge part of what Sanzuma contributes. Teaching children to grow, harvest and cook their own healthy food is invaluable.

Sanzuma has seemingly boundless dedication to increasing the availability of freshly grown foods through urban farming and policy, starting with education. Executive Director Lori Davis is an amazing community connector - between schools and local farmers to source affordable and healthy produce for their cafeteria lunches; with local and state government to facilitate the development of policy and laws that promote healthy and sustainable food sources; and in bringing together students, staff, and community for education on nutrition, wellness, and health.

I have worked with Sanzuma for 10 years and they have played an integral part in the food systems of our schools in Marin. I am the Program Manger for Zero Waste Marin and we run a very successful Zero Waste Schools Program, very much in part due to our partnership with Sanzuma. They offer a unique look into community, equity, culture, food systems, and policy. Their farm is essential to not only the school lunch program, but the local community, and people from all over the bay area and California who are trying to learn community food system integration. They provide training and nutrition class in English and Spanish. The team is passionate, enthusiastic, caring, and an overall pleasure to work with!

We started working with Sanzuma during the Covid lockdowns. We helped package up hundreds of boxes of organic vegetable, which made their way to homes and communities all across Marin County. We were so impressed with their organizing, hard work and dedication to providing healthy meals and education to underserved communities in Marin. Since that time, we have watched that commitment grow as they continue to support and educate families on healthy eating, where their food comes from while giving these kids a head start on eating healthy, fresh foods, pride in their school farm, learning and sharing with their families.
Lori Davis the Founder works tirelessly to support Marins underserved communities and literally feeds their body, mind and spirit too.

Sanzuma is wonderful non-profit organization that has filled an important need in the community by providing fresh fruits and vegetables to local classrooms. More importantly Sanzuma has taken this concept even further to include educating and training others on the value of having access fresh produce. Sanzuma is definitely a "Pay it Forward" organization that is making a difference.

I kept coming back to volunteer at Sanzuma for years longer than I intended to. Beyond the beauty of the community, I was drawn by the organization's mission. As a San Rafael resident and a former student of the district that Sanzuma serves, I'm so excited that Samzuma is providing our community's littles with nutrition education, access to fresh produce, and a chance to connect with nature.

Sanzuma is a great non profit. Offering education for children and adults to learn about organic farming and eat incredibly fresh foods. Caring about the environment and all that organic farming benefits us all. We need more non profits like this so that our children can continue to learn and understand the impact of organic farming without the use of pesticides. I wish there was more like SANZUMA !!!

I've been a huge admirer of Sanzuma's work for years before joining the Board. As a pediatrician, I have seen first hand the huge impact this magical little farm has on the children of our community. Sanzuma produces a bounty of beautiful, nutritious foods for our local school children and other vulnerable community members. Additionally, Sanzuma educates children and families about the source of their food and the many community and environmental benefits of consuming locally produced food and it serves as a model and support for other organizations to connect with local farmers.
