Mission: Barrios unidos is a multi-cultural community based violence preventionand eradication program focused on services to at-risk youth. Weprovide afterschool programs for ages 5-18; direct services within thejuvenile hall facility; and several outreach programs including the "rule of law", a diversion activity for troubled youth.
Programs: Community outreach is a program that approaches the dilemma of youthviolence. Santa cruz barrios unidos' belief is that community workerswho have experienced and overcome the challenges facing young peopletoday are best able to assist them in choosing life affirming behavior. The focus is on building positive self-esteem and cultural pridethrough meaningful activities, education and job training.

Wedeliberately recruit, train and employ workers who have experienced andovercome the challenges faced by youth today.
