Mission: The mission of the san miguel watershed coalition is to advance the ecological health and promote the economic vitality of the watershed through collaborative efforts of the entire community. The goal of the organization is to realize a watershed that is healthy in every respect while offering a sustainable and quality lifestyle for all who live in the watershed.
Programs: The program accomplishments for the san miguel watershed coaltion for 2017 included an initiated non-consumptive needs study for the watershed, utilizing lotic hydrological, in cooperation with the southwest water conservation district and performed water quality sampling for detailed analysis at prescribed points within the watershed. Additionally, the coalition contributed to the town of telluride's river restoration and the initiation of the forest health study in conjuction with colorado state uniiversity.
