Mission: The mission of sail to prevail - the national disabled sailing program - is to assist disabled children (including those with pediatric cancer, the broad spectrum of autism, paralysis, as well as other developmental disabilities) and adults (including wounded military personnel) to overcome adversity through therapeutic sailing. With programs in several states, sail to prevail annually teaches over 1,000 people with disability sailing skills in our fleet of specially adapted sailboats. Additionally, sail to prevail provides advice for other disabled sailing programs throughout the country. The programs strongly encourage disabled individuals to be active participants; the measurable outcomes prove that the participants have an easier time conquering other challenges in their daily lives, as well as show improved leadership abilities, self-confidence and understanding of teamwork.
