Mission: The organization administers a testing and certification program for safe living and working environments. The purpose of this testing and certification program is to promote public benefit and assist government agencies along with users and industry in meeting their mutual goals, which is to protect the general public through testing and certifying products used on or off the job in keeping with recognized public safety standards and the current state of the art, and to recognize for the convenience of users and the general public, those products which are certified to meet the applicable standards.
Programs: Safety equipment institute's program accomplishment is consistent with the organization's purpose and mission. The organization's primary program accomplishment is to determine compliance of products and systems with nationally and internationally recognized public safety standards through the administration of a testing and certification program to assure the continued safety of the general public and those who use certified products.
