Causes: Government & Public Administration
Mission: To reduce excessive incarceration, reduce prison spending, and shift resources to those public services that actually reduce crime and improve quality of life for all citizens.
Programs: Capps works to advance policies that end michigan's over-use of incarceraton promote community safety and healing. Building on extensive research and analysis, we develop recommendations for evidence based criminal justice reforms. We build support for these reforms by educating members of the general public, elected officials and other policymakers, and by conducting outreach to diverse communities and stakeholders.
