Mission: HRDC Sabal identifies, treats, and provides rehabilitation for the poorest children with disabilities in Nepal and neighboring countries. Our vision is a compassionate, inclusive, and caring world where children with physical disabilities have equal access to opportunities and the best possible quality of life.
Results: 103,404 children have received life-changing medical care since 1985; mobile medical camps reach every district in Nepal; 87,246 prosthetic and orthotic devices manufactured in on-site lab; 1,008,887 physiotherapy sessions conducted since 1985; 4,616 children have attended the HRDC School; 620 people have received Primary Rehabilitation Therapy Training. HRDC’s work has been recognized with The World of Children Award (US), The STARS Impact Award (UK), and The World of Children Alumni Award (US)
Target demographics: The poorest children with disabilities in Nepal and neighboring countries
Direct beneficiaries per year: 20,000 – 25,000 children receive treatment; 65 mobile medical camps treat 9,500 children; 2,500 successful surgeries performed; 6,000 prosthetic and orthotic devices manufactured on site; 55,000 physiotherapy sessions carried out; and 600 children receive clubfoot treatment.
