Mission: Russian-Americans United Arts Council, nonprofit charitable organization, exists to create the system of support for preserving, developing and promoting the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the Russian-speaking community in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Results: All its activities and projects are built around several main themes a. United Production. Council has collaborated with Chamber of Commerce for “Russian Mosaic” festivals, Charitable program “Hope” for “Purim Celebration” and, most recently, “International Children Festival”. It is currently working with soccer school “Dynamo United” and company “Z-promotions” on First Children Competition “Relays of fun”. b. United Promotion. Council maintains main and social, networking sites as well as an electronic newsletter sent to 800 subscribers monthly where it is able to promote its artistic members and provide information of interest to its constituents and supporters. RAUAC also has great working relationships with local ethnic newspapers, radio, television and websites that made it a highly thought after promotional partner for Russian-themed cultural events. c. United Presenting. RAUC collaborates with similar organizations throughout United States in presenting non-commercial performing artists and groups from Russia and Ukraine. It is planning new monthly series “Encore” for the fall of this year that will be a part of this program. Council also sends its members artists to perform during festivals in other cities. d. United Fundraising. It has started Annual United Community Fund Drive “Arts Give Hope” 2 years ago. It is responsible for the cultural programming of the United Charitable Council of the Russian Community. Most recent project – charitable concert benefiting disable teenagers and youth that took place June 6th. It was put together in three weeks in response to the tragedy that happens to a community member – Mikhail Kogan who lost both legs during tragic car accident. Council currently develops a completely new fund raising block of its website to increase a funding for its programs and artistic members’ projects.
