Mission: We inspire lives and communities of purpose and meaning by providing intentional, innovative, learning opportunities in which people of all ages discover who they are and are encouraged to realize their full potential.
Programs: After school program: wonder & wisdom provides after-school enrichment and field trips for students in grades k-6. We pick up children from school, serve a nutritious snack, and facilitate place-based experiential learning activities that build relationships and foster social and emotional development. Our programs integrate nature, the arts, and music. Wonder & wisdom is licensed by the state of vermont as a childcare provider for children 5-12. Through the 2014-2015 after school program, wonder & wisdom served 29 lakeview students and 5 craftsbury elementary students, including several children with special needs and abilities. We also offered a running program serving an additional 10 students from hardwick elementary and 3 homeschoolers.
summer journeys camp program: wonder & wisdom carried out nature-based and arts-based day camps during the summer months of the fiscal year ending june 30. Six weeks of full day camps were held during july and august 2014 serving 54 school age children. Two weeks of camps were held during june 2015 serving 11 preschool children and 11 school age children. Through scholarships, subsidies, and discounts, children from limited income families were able to attend the summer camps with free or reduced fees.
seniors program: wonder & wisdom coordinated 12 monthly activities serving 69 area seniors, ages 50-95, during the fiscal year ending june 30. Trips were taken to the greensboro historical society, museum of everyday life, spirit of ethan allen cruise on lake champlain, colors of the kingdom autumn festival, chandler arts center, lost nation theater, catamount arts center, fairbanks museum, st. Marks episcopal church concert in newport, craftsbury community care center concert, and the fairbanks museum.
